The Barcelona Commemorative Football Shirt 2008-09

Needless to say, football fans know the big five leagues in Europe including the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga and Ligue 1. These successful football clubs competing in Li Liga that are Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are all candidates to win the title of La Liga.

Founded in 1899, the mighty club totally wins Li Liga 24 times, Copa del Rey 29 times, Supercopa de España 12 times, five UEFA Champions Leagues, three FIFA Club World Cups and so on. Barcelona was ranked the first in the Club World Ranking that was created by IFFHS in 1997, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2015. There is no doubt that this is a very preeminent team in the world.

In 2017-18 season, Barcelona performs well and is able to win La Liga, UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey. If the club can win the three competitions simultaneously, the bonus will be €30 million. According to the latest news, Barcelona set a new club record on February 24, 2018 as they won 6-1 against Girona to ensure they have now gone 32 games unbeaten in the league. Barcelona forwards Lionel Messi, Philippe Coutinho and Luis Suarez combined to devastating effect to hammer Girona. Luis Suarez scored a hat-trick in the 76th minute.

The club has been set up for 110 years until 2009. Thus, there is a unique and commemorative football shirt designed by Nike for this special 2008-09 season.

Like the 1899-1999 Centennial Football Shirt, the 08-09 shirt is back to the classic design. Dark blue and dark red are as the main color of the shirt. Nike Swoosh, the club crest and “unicef” certainly appear the front of the shirt. Barcelona and Unicef first cooperated in 2006 and they extended the deal. Barca’s legendary footballer Lionel Messi is one of the Unicef global goodwill ambassadors.

It is worth mentioning that the collar of the shirt is print with the slogan “Not just a club” which was used from the last season. In addition, the slogan is also shown inside of the shirt with a detailed description. The team’s nickname Barça (Barcelona) is printed on the jersey, too, which is a great way to show respect for the club and enhance the cohesion of the team players. When they wear the shirt, players will be encouraged to win more championships.

The blue shorts and dark red socks complete the commemorative kit.

I believe that fans of the club must long to seat at the stadium to feel the atmosphere and enjoy the excitement. If you are free, you can visit the Camp Nou, the home stadium of Barcelona that is a top rated stadium with a capacity of nearly 99,354 spectators making it the largest stadium in Europe and the second largest stadium in the world.

The stadium is sustainable with modern comforts and services, smart and green, harvesting water and energy from the sun. It has hosted the 1989 and 1999 European Champions League finals, five major matches including the opening game of the 1982 FIFA World Cup and the football competition final at the 1992 Summer Olympics.

In addition to football games, Camp Nou is able to host concerts. The world-famous singer Michael Jackson appeared here during his Bad World Tour. A concert of the Three Tenors(Josep Carreras, Plácido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti) was held on 13 July 1997.
